    Federal attorney leaves for hedge fund. The top deputy to Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, Richard Zabel, is leaving the government to join hedge fund Elliott Management. Zabel will become general counsel at the firm in September. Zabel has been deputy U.S. Attorney since 2011, leading major insider trading and terrorism cases. Reuters

    Deutsche strategist joins LondonĀ fund. Hedge fund Caxton Associates in London has hired James Malcolm from Deutsche Bank. Malcolm, formerly a foreign-exchange strategist, is the latest Deutsche employee to jump ship for billionaire Bruce Kovner’s hedge fund. Junaid Mohammad and Trevor Dinmore were also recruited.     Lazard launching Europe hedge fund. Lazard Asset Management poached former Henderson Global Investors fund manager Leopold Arminjon to open a European long/short equity hedge fund this year. Arminjon previously worked as lead portfolio manager at Henderson Horizon Pan-European Alpha Fund. Reuters
