    Standard Life CEO replaced. Standard Life CEO David Nish is stepping down August 5 after six years leading the British firm. Keith Skeoch, current CEO of the asset management arm Standard Life Investments, will replace Nish and maintain his current position with SLI.

    Manulife creates global distribution role. Manulife Asset Management has hired Claude Chene for the newly created role of global head of distribution, effective July 1. Chene comes to the firm from Ignis Asset Management where he worked as global head of distribution for almost three years. He previously worked at AllianceBernstein for 13 years. Benefits Canada

    Schroders grabs ex-Pimco exec. John Griffiths, former co-head of Northern Europe for Pimco, has joined Schroders as head of U.K. institutional sales and business development. Griffiths’ predecessor Robert Bee left the firm last year. Griffiths left his role at Pimco last year as well. Pensions & Investments

    BlackRock expands diversified strategies team. BlackRock has hired Rupert Harrison for the newly created role of managing director for the diversified strategies team. Harrison will start in September, reporting to Adam Ryan, head of diversified strategies. In his new position, Harrison will work with the multiasset strategies business. Harrison previously served as chief of staff to U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. Pensions & Investments

    BNY dives further into alts. BNY Mellon has appointed Alan Flanagan for the newly created role of global head of private equity and real estate fund services. Flanagan will oversee the new PE&RE business, with more than $100 billion in assets under administration and 150 employees globally. The unit will operate under BNY Mellon’s Alternative Investment Services arm. Flanagan previously worked as global head of product management for AIS. He will be replaced by Robert Chambers, coming to the firm from Balestra Capital.

    State Street hires policy head from S&P. Elliot Hentov has joined State Street Global Advisors as head of policy and research for its official institutions group. Hentov previously worked as a director in the sovereign ratings team for S&P. Reuters

    BNP steals Schroders portfolio manager. BNP has hired Matt Joyce as portfolio manager on the multi-asset solutions team. Prior to the move, Joyce was working as a portfolio manager at Schroders Investment Management. Portfolio Advisor

    Blackstone hires for real estate. Blackstone has added Jonathan Pollack to its real estate group as a senior managing director and CIO for Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies. Pollack previously worked as global head of commercial real estate at Deutsche Bank.
