    Goldman hires Madoff-nabbing cop. Long-time FBI agent Patrick Carroll has joined Goldman Sachs as a v.p. in compliance. Carroll was responsible for overseeing the Bernie Madoff investigation and Raj Rajaratnam’s $554 million Ponzi scheme. Bloomberg

    OMAM gets new UK, Ireland head. Old Mutual Asset Management has appointed Trevedi Tewari as head of its institutional business in the United Kingdom and Ireland, effective June 1. Tewari comes to the firm from the Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), which is now part of Aberdeen Asset Management, where he worked as director of consultant relations.

    Goldman loses top attorney to SEC. Andrew “Buddy” Donohue is resigning his position at Goldman Sachs to return to the SEC. Donohue was head of investment management regulation at the SEC from 2006 to 2010. This time around, he will be top aide to the chair Mary Jo White. Current chief of staff for White Lona Nallengara will be resigning in June. ValueWalk

    NYLife replaces retiring CEO. New York Life Investment Management has named Yie-Hsin Hung as its new CEO upon Drew Lawton’s retirement at the end of the year. Hung is currently co-president with Stephen Fisher of New York Life’s investment management arm. Fisher will remain its sole president. Financial Times
