No indication yet that U.S.-based hedge funds will be facing hard times in the near future. Assets under managements swelled in 2014, as did the number of firms with assets of $1 billion or more, according to new data. At the start of this year 316 firms weighed in at the billion-plus-dollar level, up from 293 firms a year earlier, according to Hedge Fund Intelligence data. Total assets under management swelled to $1.87 trillion at the start of 2015, up from $1.71 trillion from the same period in 2014, the data provider said in its Billion Dollar Club report.
