    Hudson Executive Capital picks up top industry names. Activist hedge fund Hudson Executive Capital has hired former SEC chairwoman Mary Schapiro and former Wells Fargo CEO Richard Kovacevich. Schapiro will be serving as a senior advisor for corporate governance and regulatory issues. She worked as the first SEC chairwoman under Obama, before moving to bank consulting firm Promontory Financial Group in 2013. Kovacevich will be one of the firm’s “CEO Partners.” He left Wells Fargo in 2010, after buying Wachovia in 2008 for $15.1 billion. New York Times (paywall)

    NFL commissioner’s brother hops hedge funds. Bill Goodell, brother to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, became COO of hedge fund Partner Fund Management June 1. Goodell comes to the firm after nearly seven years at Maverick Capital, where he worked as COO. Goodell’s background is in law, and he previously worked as general counsel for Julian Robertson at Tiger Management. He remains on the executive committee of hedge fund lobbying group Management Funds Association, after serving as chairman from 2012 to 2013. CNBC
